LRDR Foundation

LRDR Foundation

Start Date: 3/2018
Completion Date: 8/2019
Owner: STG Pacific

The LRDR Foundation consisted of a massive footing designed to resist seismic forces, blast and differential settlement.  The STG Pacific (STGP) team continuously placed 4,000 CY of concrete in a mass pour lasting 20+ hours for the pile cap. The LES Foundation is key infrastructure for MDA to provide national defensive capabilities against ballistic missiles making the project mission critical and time sensitive.

Davis, as a subcontractor to STGP provided the concrete scope. 140 people in total were involved with the pour for a total of 1,700 man hours. It took 22 hours to place with 18 concrete trucks supplying concrete from three batch plants to 4 pump trucks. We averaged 220 yards of concrete an hour into the forms, with a total of 15,800,000 lbs of concrete placed. The project will be completed in early 2019 with the placement of the finish wear slab.
