Mike Parmenter Awarded 2024 Individual Safety Award

This year, Mike Parmenter was the recipient of the 2024 AGC Individual Safety Award!

Mike Parmenter has been with Davis since 2005, starting as a carpenter, and then working his way up to general foreman in 2009 and then to superintendent in 2012. Since 2010, Mike has worked exclusively with Providence Alaska under Davis and Providence’s Master Service Agreement (MSA). This has led to Mike working on a record 100 healthcare projects with a total revenue of over 140 million.

Mike’s role as a superintendent in an operating hospital is a unique niche within the industry given the extensive regulations and evolving safety concerns. Not only is he responsible for his own personnel on the jobsite, but he is also responsible for the safety of patients, visitors, and hospital staff. It’s a Herculean task that Mike takes in stride. In fact, his best practices have been so successful that PAMC now requires all contractors working on the campus to adhere to them.

The ConocoPhillips Excellence in Safety Awards are given to promote and recognize excellence in safety throughout the construction industry in Alaska. Applications are reviewed by an independent panel of safety professionals with special attention to upper management commitment, worker training, active participation of the entire company, and special innovations.
