The Tundra Tykes Childcare Facility Project is a 10,000 sf single story structure Class “B” modern design childcare facility on approximately half an acre. The building is wood framed (Type VB) with automatic sprinklers and a cast footing slab-on-grade concrete foundation system. The roof system is single ply EPDM. The exterior material consists of about 300 sf of aluminum storefront system, and a combination of fixed and operable vinyl windows. 25% - 30% of the exterior wall will be glazing. The remaining materials are metal panels, hardi-board and dryvit systems. Facility signage is provided at the parent drop off entrance and at public toilets. Interior spaces are specifically scaled for children; a place of distinction for federal employees and their children while addressing the development needs as required by the US General Services Administration Child Care Design Guide.
