Valdez Marine Terminal Office Building
Valdez, Alaska
Owner: Alyeska Pipeline

Architects: ASCG / RIM Architects

Project Start Date: May 2001

Project Completion: July 2002

The Valdez Marine Terminal Office Building is a Design Build Project with special attention towards site specific needs. The three story building is approximately 45,000+ sf. The design strategy is for maximum flexibility in the configuration of "open office" planning. 10'-6" ceilings are used in lieu of the standard 9'-0" height. This allows for better lighting and enhances the feeling of openness. The building is designed on a hierarchy basis with a security station on the ground floor. The design also relies on a stout structure to resist snow loading and seismic forces needed in Valdez.
