The New Kincaid Elementary School is a 58,000 sf facility
on 28 acres. The new school has 26 classrooms and all core
support elements such as a multi-purpose room with adjacent
music room/stage, gymnasium, and IMC. This school bid in
January and was two million dollars under the engineers'
estimate. Davis was awarded the contract in February. Material
procurement and buyout started immediately. Earthwork started
in May, and by the end of September the building was complete
on the exterior and all sitework substantially complete.
The building was complete and turned over to the School
District for stocking in March 1996, six months ahead of
the contract completion date.
