Davis Constructors & Engineers,
Inc., Osborne Construction Company, Inc., and Kumin Associates
(Architect) combined in a design build relationship with Aurora
Military Housing, LLC to construct new housing units and remodel
existing units at Elmendorf Airforce Base. Davis Constructors
and Osborne Construction each performed roughly half the work
of a construction project that totals over $86 million. The
project was divided between three areas on Elmendorf and was
spread between March 2001 and September 2003.
The Boniface Housing development is the largest of the three
areas. The Boniface site contains 372 new housing units built
in four-plexes and is located on approximately 90 acres between
the Boniface Gate and the New Base Commissary. Boniface site
work was led by Osborne Construction and the buildings were
jointly led by Davis and Osborne.
The Chugach site
is located to the southeast of the Boniface site and consists
of remodeling 200 existing housing units. All the Chugach
work was led by Osborne Construction.
The Dallas development consists of
demolishing the existing 22 eight-plexes and detached garages,
then constructing 48 new housing units in duplexes. The Dallas
site is bordered on the south by the Corps of Engineers, the
north by Prune St., on the west by Plum Avenue, and the east
by Grape Street. All the Dallas work was led by Davis Constructors.
