This
US Corps of Engineers project consists of adding a 4,929 square
meters (53,055 sq ft) apartment wing to existing barracks
structure. Sitework improvements include new roads and
drives; anti-terrorism site protection measures; landscape
improvements; and recreational activity areas.
The apartment is a three-story structural
steel building with tilt-up pre-cast concrete exterior walls.
It provides an additional 72 apartment units, with each unit
having a full bath, a kitchenette, and two living/sleeping quarters
with walk-in closets. Exterior recreation areas include a basketball
court, two volleyball courts and picnic shelter. The volleyball
courts are designed to allow the installation of a portable
ice rink over them in the winter
